FAQ

When do I need to purchase a license?
If you plan to use footage or other element(s) from any Property owned by CBS either on its own or as part of a project (e.g., film, television episode, educational presentation, etc.) shown to the general public (or pre-selected members thereof [e.g., students in a class, attendees of a lecture, etc.]) or used for a commercial purpose, you must purchase a license for the use of that Property. Failure to do so is a violation of copyright law and could have serious repercussions. If you are unsure whether or not you need a license for your project, contact us by e-mail us at footage@cbsnews.com.
